Used this (and two other No Bull books) to study for the Praxis Middle School Social Studies certification and it certainly covered a lot of material in a concise manner. I highly recommend for someone who is brushing up for a test, but this is pretty dry content for someone who wishes to actually learn for the first time about this subject. Well written and well organized. My only complaint, and this is a personal preference based off of how I prefer to learn and remember history, is that the information is organized by general topic, and is not necessarily in chronological order. I don't want in any way to detract from the book, which I do think is very well done, but I was constantly flipping back and forth as I read, trying to piece content into a mental timeline of when it happened, rather than by what happened. That said, this book (and others in the series) is a very valuable study tool, and I say that as both a student and a teacher.Product details

No Bull Review US History and Gov't Jeremy Klaff Harry Klaff Books Reviews
Very helpful
Very direct, easy to read style, includes helpful tips and mnemonic devices for regents success. Each chapter includes multiple choice questions to test your knowledge. Highly recommended.
As a US History Buff this reminded me of things I had not forgotten but had not thought about recently. Ideal for anybody taking a US History course. If you enjoy US history, I also recommend the America's Forgotten History Books 1 and 2. Start with Book 1.
This was a useful review and was nicely tied in to the Regents exam.
No tests included so you may want to buy another book with more explanations and tests. I bought two books this one and a larger AP test prep book and am happy.
The bottom line is you do not have to buy an 800 page $125 book to pass a test on American History.
This book cuts out all the extra information that History courses are usually stuffed with and cuts it down to what you really need to know for the Regent. It gives a quick clear review by section and then actual questions from previous regents on that section. Excellent!
If what you want is U.S. history distilled down to its essence, the Klaffs have written it. I teach US and World History (among other subjects) to high-school students who are confined to learning at home. And to me, No Bull Review is the definitive US history primer. Admittedly, this book should never take the place of the student's text book, especially reading primary sources of information. But, having read those, this book is a valuable addition. The authors condense the complex nature of history (and historical documents) into the beef...the salient facts...that students in New York State need to pass the U.S. History regents exams.
